Hand Colored Restorations

This is a 1910 picture from RetouchPro.com of two Grandparents from Perth, Scotland. There were scratches, lines, fading and bluring in the original. To restore and colorize this photograph we did the following:

Opened up the tonal range (shadows, midtones and highlights) of the photograph
Removed all scratches, lines, fading and bluring
Hand-colored the photograph
Created the side and bottom of the chair which was not visible in the original
Sharpened the faces and most of the other objects in the photograph

This is a 1958 color photograph from Germany that has experienced severe color fading from sun exposure. To restore this photograph we did the following:

Opened up the tonal range (shadows, midtones and highlights) of the photograph
Cleaned up the unmatching bottom and side areas
Hand-colored the photograph
Strengthened the handwriting at bottom right hand side of the photograph
Smoothed out certain areas of the face and sharpened in others (ex. eyes, mouth).
